Haridwar: 59 Km from our Institute

One of the holiest pilgrimages in India, Haridwar, or the ‘gateway to gods’, is located where Ganga, the sacredest of all Indian rivers, enters the Indo-Gangetic plains. Located at the foothills of the Himalayas, Haridwar is a city of temples and ashrams and its pious ambience envelops everyone. Haridwar is one of the four holy Indian cities that host the Kumbh Mela, a pious gathering of millions of Hindu devotees every 12 years. The Ardh Kumbh is organised here every six years. It also hosts the Kanwar mela every year during the rainy season. The ‘Panch Tirth’ or the five pilgrimages located within the periphery of Haridwar, are Gangadwara (Har Ki Pauri), Kushwart (Ghat), Kankhal, Bilwa Tirtha (Mansa Devi Temple) and Neel Parvat (Chandi Devi). Haridwar serves as the gateway to the Char Dham of Uttarakhand as well.

Vidur Kuti : 65 Km from our Institute

Like the Kanva Ashram, Vitur Kuti has a lot of importance in mythology. It is believed that during the Mahabharata, the well-known philosopher was located on the banks of the Ganges. It is believed that in Krishna Ji and Hastinapur, failing to explain to Kauravas, he turned down the 56 demands of Kauravas and crossed the Ganges and came to Mahatma Vidur’s ashram. The footprint of Mahatma Vidur in the Vidur Ashram is still safe on marble.

Rishikesh: 75 Km from our Institute

Rishikesh is a city in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand, in the Himalayan foothills beside the Ganges River. The river is considered holy, and the city is renowned as a center for studying yoga and meditation. Temples and ashrams (centers for spiritual studies) line the eastern bank around Swarg Ashram, a traffic-free, alcohol-free and vegetarian enclave upstream from Rishikesh town.

Nainital : 180 Km from our Institute

Nainital is a Himalayan resort town in the Kumaon region of India’s Uttarakhand state, at an elevation of roughly 2,000m. Formerly a British hill station, it’s set around Nainital Lake, a popular boating site with Naina Devi Hindu Temple on its north shore. A cable car runs to Snow View observation point (at 2,270m), with vistas over the town and mountains including Nanda Devi, Uttarakhand’s highest peak.

Kotdwar

Kotdwar, also known as Kotdwara, is a town in the Pauri Garhwal district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is situated in the foothills of the Himalayas and is known for its picturesque landscapes and natural beauty. Lush green forests surround the town and is a popular destination for nature lovers and trekkers. Kotdwar is famous for its well-known and holy Sidhbali Temple which is situated 2 km (1.2 mi) from Kotdwar. Sidhbali Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is visited by millions of believers all around the year.

Lansdown

A quiet town with old-world colonial charm, Lansdowne is an unspoiled expanse of lush greenery nestled in the Himalayas. The hill station is dotted with pines and oaks and is perched at a height of 1,700 m. Charming churches, flowering thickets, springs, and ponds encompass the entire hill station. Lansdowne was established in 1887 as a cantonment of the British, who were drawn to its salubrious climate, and is named after the then Viceroy of India, Lord Lansdowne. Today, it is the headquarters of the Garhwal Rifles of the Indian Army. Explore the small town on foot, with a lake at its centre, enjoy nature walks and discover hidden temples and churches or just laze around and enjoy the pristine mountain views.
